Friday Tonic: Pulse Live!
Pulse - Voicelab's pool of 12 budding professional singers - presents its end of year concert, showcasing the singers in a whole range of repertoire from jazz classics to new contemporary pieces. The gig climaxes with the performance of a new work devised with the group by composer Fraser Trainer, which takes as its starting point the science of the singing voice.
Who needs men anyway?
The idea of a world without men is a popular theme in science fiction, but now advances in scientific research could mean that in the future these fantasy worlds become reality. How might recent developments in science change the way we reproduce? And what ethical questions might our quests for alternative reproduction bring to light?
Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment: Creation: A Song Cycle
Young string players from London are joined by Elizabeth Weisberg (soprano) and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and OAE Experience Players to perform their own song cycle based on creation myths under the leadership of music animateur Mark Withers.
Suitable for ages seven and over.
