The maths of music

Marcus du Sautoy is Professor for the Public Understanding of Science at University of Oxford, and he gives this special lecture on the relationship between maths and music.

Du Sautoy's work as a broadcaster and writer about mathematics has brought the subject to a wider public audience, and his interests extend beyond the confines of his discipline to embrace political and social concerns.

His most recent book is The Num8er My5teries: A Mathematical Odyssey Through Everyday Life.

Also part of Southbank Centre's The Bernstein Project and London Literature Festival.
