HG Wells, a master at envisioning future human society in his science fiction writing, adapted his own novel for this feature. After an eerily accurate vision of world war in the 1940s, a new 'dark age' in human history emerges out of the rubble of conflict. As a violent, feudal-like society takes hold in Britain, hope comes in the form of a new society that has denounced war and nations, promising a world of peace through rational thought and technological progress.
