Werner Herzog follows aeronautics expert Dr Graham Dorrington to the Guyanan rainforest.

Herzog is best known for his epic studies of obsessives, so this film's beginnings - in the University of London - may surprise. Fear not: the director soon follows aeronautics expert Dr Graham Dorrington to the Guyanan rainforest, where a newly developed dirigible is tested on the canopy’s highest reaches, and where the film too branches out to touch on all manner of interlinked stories and subjects. Like Morris' film, this shows that science, philosophy and human portraiture can be combined to produce a wide-ranging but brilliantly coherent film.
